Then, she relocated to the United States, where she served her internal medicine internship and residency at the University of Connecticut, where she was named Best Resident of the year (2004) and Outstanding Intern of the Year (2002). In addition, she completed her fellowship training in cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Heart Institute, Houston, TX (2004-2007), where she was honored with the Van Reet Award.
